Can someone explain northford, ct to me.
Is it part of north branford, ct?

It seems like a nice location..easy commute to job markets and shopping in wallingford. also, not far from the shoreline...

Does the town have beach access rights?
How are the schools and crime?

Does it have a rural or urban feel to it?

Thanks

John

It IS in the northwest corner of the Town of North Branford. It's a small hamlet with some shopping plazas. North Branford isn't on the Long Island Sound, but the Town of Branford is.

Northford is a section of the Town of North Branford, though more people seem to know the area as just Northford. The area has more of a rural-suburban feel to it with homes on larger lots. There is not a lot of commercial development there. Because it is an inland town, there are no beaches on Long Island Sound. Some shoreline towns offer access to beaches to neighboring towns. I am not sure if there is an agreement for North Branford though. I would say that crime is very low there and the schools are very good generally performing above the state averages on the Connecticut Mastery and Connecticut Academic Performance tests. Below is a link to more information on schools in the state. I hope this helps, Jay

Has anyone heard of a green going in to the town of Northford in the near future? An agent said she heard of approval and it will happen in the near future.

Thanks

My best friend lives in Northford and some of my family lives in North Branford. In parts of Northford you are actually close to North Haven, with Washington Avenue having lots of businesses and shops and it travels right up into Wallingford. North Branford is east of Northford, and I think they are both pretty rural, with Northford being more farm-ready. My friend's house is on a two-acre lot off of Middletown Avenue, and they really enjoy the solitude. I cannot attest to the schools because her children are pre-school age.

North Branford schools must do pretty well, I know graduates from the high school that go to UConn, Eastern, University of New Hampshire, and Southern. Rankings I do not know about.
