Pawn Shops?
I'm thinking about taking a TV (a nice one, it's not cheap) to a pawn shop because I haven't been able to sell it locally. Does anyone have recommendations of credible pawn shops in/around New Britain? It's big and very heavy, so I don't want to drive it all over town to try and get better quotes from different places. I appreciate any suggestions!

Bring it to Goodwill, get a receipt, and use it as a tax deduction.

You'd only get pennies back if you do this I think.
Have you tried putting it on craigslist?

Yeah, it's been on Craigslist for almost a month, with multiple price reductions (but apparently not low enough for anyone to buy it). I can't just give it away for pennies unfortunately, I need cash for it. Ebay is not an option because it would cost $200+ just to ship the thing...
As for the charitable deduction, I don't make enough that I pay into state income tax, and I get all my federal tax back, so that option isn't worth it. Not to mention the write-off would be for 2009 and I'd be waiting another year to file it.
