Wethersfield Condo help ASAP
Hello,
I am close to signing a lease in Wethersfield for a condo in the Ashwood (sp?) Condo complex - Across from Stop & Shop, behind Wood & Tap. I have been hearing that this whole area behind the KFC is crime filled, is this true? My fiance and I both have nice, brand new cars and I just want to make sure that our cars and stuff in the condo will be safe, as well as my fiance being outside alone. Can anybody give me ANY kind of advice. We will be signing the lease in the next couple days and want to make sure we are doing the right thing. Thank you SO much.
Greg

Hearing from who??? Joes brothers, cousins, uncles wife?? If you are really concerned call Wethersfield PD and talk to someone about crime in that area. Given that there is a lot of retail and restaurants in the area I am sure there might be some crime, but I wouldn't say its "crime filled". The area borders many residential streets on the wethersfield side so I doubt crime is a major issue. As for your cars...don't keep anything in view that might be tempting and if they are really "nice" cars most attempted theft of them would disable the engine so I wouldn't really worry about it. Frankly I would be more concerned about dings and dents from other cars parking too close.

That is a good idea to call the Wethersfield PD, I never thought about that. I just don't know the area at all and wanted to make sure we were not going to in for an awakening. I want to make sure she is safe when I travel for business too. I don't care about door dings and all, that can be fixed, but I just don't want to wake up in the morning and my car be gone, haha. I know it borders some residential neighborhoods, but was not sure on the safety of the neighborhoods, that's all. I am from Branford and she is from Durham, so we both come from towns where crime BARELY exists, so it is a major concern. I guess I can try calling the PD and see what they say. Thanks.

Wethersfield is a great town and has a very low crime rate. I have never heard of such a thing.

I live in Ashwood Court
Nothing ever happened to my car. Being outside alone is no issue, either... although I am annoyed at people who walk their dogs using those extended leashes. Drives me crazy. The dog might as well not have a leash.
I'm a little shocked that I'm "meeting" my neighbors on city-data, actually. Howdy, neighbors.
