Default Double digit unemployment in some CT cities is now a reality.

Interesting... new unemployment rates for Dec '08 by town are released in the Feb. CT Economic Digest, on pages 20 - 21

http://www.ct.gov/ecd/lib/ecd/ct_dig...9/cedfeb09.pdf

Double digit unemployment in some CT cities is now a reality.
Hartford - 12.7%
Bridgeport - 10.1%
Waterbury - 10.6%

and close to double digits:
New Britain - 9.9%
New Haven - 9.6%
Killingly - 9.3%
Plainfield - 9.2%

People choosing to move right now, might want to be sure they have something lined up before making the leap.

It's not surprising and IMHO not a good indicator of the state as a whole.

I'll just leave it at that.

It's like this everywhere. There's no place to go. We're all stuck where we are!

Pretty much, except for places like KS, NE, ND, SD, WY and OK (nothing there) or UT (basically a church state).
The thing about CT, that makes stuff like this harder is the very high cost of living in most of the state.

I think of all my friends I left behind and wonder if they have jobs still. It's so depressing!
