There is a thread discussing what people find so wonderful about Ct. I know you've seen it, you posted a snide remark on it. In fact, you've posted several snide remarks on the threads in the Ct. forum.

Folks, thanks for the kind words I really appreciate it.
I can't imagine how much my life is sucking right now which is really making me embrace the positives of CT.
CT had life. I used to wander as late as 12 and still come home to find my landlady watching tv and have her two dogs wrestle me to the ground.
Here, people down their shutters by 8:30pm. It's just nuts. I circle around several deserted blocks every night to find food.
Then I thought it's just the night and I drove out saturday morning.
I live in this area called greenwood village, they call it the denver tech center, the home to the biggie denver corps and cute multi-storey buildings.
Anyone seen I am legend?
All morning I drove through this huge corporate area? The only differences were the absence of the dog and dirty vegetation on the streets. And of course, no wildlife, thank God.
Then I saw nice signs of jason's deli and starbucks and I pulled over. They were just neon signs and the shutters were down. No they weren't keeping the sabbath too, it was saturday morning. Of course, there's the jewish sabbath but that's a little too far
I left the car and scouted around for two more blocks. Anyone remembers vanilla sky? LMAO
I resumed my patrol and finally sought the assistance of my GPS device. Good old mcdonalds was open in some corner. There were the usual mcdonalds crowd. Apparently they still weren't affected by the plague.
That night I didn't venture out. I sat in my apartment closely listening to the outside. There was no zombie noise, of course.
Then there's I-25. It's got several lanes, at least 5 I think. You can actually do a three point turn to avoid the services of the rear view mirror and another three point turn to resume driving, all without having to worry about getting hit at 65mph which is the allowed speed limit.
A lot of roads have at least 3 lanes. And not even 10 cars in a 3 mile radius. As though this is insufficient, there is a world of space on either side of the road, so you can actually pull over and save yourself when there is a crash or walk down, take a leak, hurl a few pebbles in the vicinity.
The only good thing is the gorgeous view of the snow clad rockies.
Then came sunday. I didn't keep the sabbath. I decided to go eat. Had my GPS find the closest Chick Fila, my long lost chicken place. I drove five miles. They had this huge parking lot. Big enough to park and reflect on life. Incidentally, they had kept the sabbath
This is just a low profile place. Not as lively and fun as CT. Man even north carolina was fun. Charlotte, raleigh and greensboro are similar cities but there was considerable human inhabitation. Atlanta is a similar metro and it was full of life and fun. When I'd been to Dallas/Houston, they rocked as well. Denver's just different.
I went about and bought a japanese peace lily. Right now I am watching it grow

Don't post this on the Denver forum or you risk getting your cajones torn off.
CT is a lively place (at least southern CT), which is why I never understand when people here claim "oh it's SO laid back in CT" -nah, it's not...LOL. Sure people here may seem aloof and there is some [unwanted] diversity in the sketchiest areas of cities, but I think it's a very well-rounded place.
A lot of it is what you make of it. There has got to be some area of town where you'll be able to meet people - every city has 'em.
Interesting to hear your thoughts on other parts of the country. Consider coming back in the near future maybe? In any event, good luck with everything.

I am sure you will find your way. Just like when you moved to CT, it takes time to find things you are looking for. Check out the CO Boards for information. I am sure people there will help. Best wishes, Jay

I agree with Kid, the folks in the Denver forum seem a bit trigger happy.
Maybe you can have some fun? Nevermind, that wouldn't be nice.
I havn't been to Denver in YEARS, but isn't the "tech center" really far South in town - like on the outskirts?
Have you done much searching around the DT area? (LoDo, Riverfront etc) I seem to remember some life down there.
I've heard that Denver is the worlds biggest suburb, sounds like you might be confirming that.
I'm guessing that you really don't want to venture down to Colorado Springs then? lol I hear the sidewalks fold up at 5pm. (Not a bad thing in my book, but I'm old with kids now. )
Thanks for posting back, it's always interesting to see a back to back comparo like that.
