Yes, I am coming back for sure. I actually had an offer in Manhattan, but they are one of the biggies with heavy pink slip transactions and they weren't very confirming on the exact roles and responsibilities.

But now they are talking about letting me work for them remotely a few hours every week. I really hope it works out great and if it does, it would be my link back to the area in the future.

It really is. And it sucks big time.

And yeah, the denver forum folks seem trigger happy indeed. It's funny they take their skiing insecurities out on the newbies. LOL.

I also get the vibe that most of them are not used to crowded environments and are content with what they have here. To him his own.

There is a guy who posts to every complaining thread with one word - "MOVE"

Colossus, I have always enjoyed your humorous posting. But, I have to ask you how long have you been in Denver? Adapting to a new place can take some time to get used to. Give it more than a few weeks...have you ever moved anywhere new before? Trust me, give it 6 - 8 months, at least before you come running back to the familiar. I know what you are going through, I moved many times. Its scary, so embrace the differences, get out meet people, explore the area. You can always move home but don't give up this wonderful opportunity to expand your horizons! Keep your chin up.

Great post and I completely agree.

You've only been there a short time. Check out some happy hour specials and go. Join a local gym and find some workout buddies. Having friends or just people to talk to will always make a place seem better than it is.

Ditto. I seem to remember LoDo, the Riverfront etc being pretty "alive" and a quick search over at the Denver forum shows it's much moreso then I remember!
