Hey, I wish I found this earlier (No I'm not Atlantian). Anyway, I currently live in Atlanta and I want to know about the Hartford area to Eastern CT and how it compares to metro Atlanta. I am twenty-three years old and I will be going back to school next year. Really, I am starting to put others ahead of myself and I want to know how Central and Eastern Connecticut is for kids (I heard that the schools are great). I used to consider Bridgeport but...y'all know and it's NYC Metro. I hope that enough info for right now but I will come up with more information later on. I in the early stages of planning, Thanks to all who respond.

Income is a factor. Yes. That's more how we "divide" in CT more than "race".

It's obvious that not only people from the "ghetto" listen to a certain type of music, but it's generally found more there.

I'm not getting your points, unless you are trying to bait.

Call a spade a spade. Ghetto trash is ghetto trash. It's obvious - very obvious how a town like East Hartford has changed, and where the influence has come from and it's not a postive one. Manchester is now facing similar issues.

You're probably not in that classification yourself even though you probably think you are being judged as such.

I just tried to "Google street view" my neighborhood in Waterbury I grew up in to give you an idea of where I came from myself and it's not available. They didn't go there. Probably afraid to.

Not bait. I just wanted to see if I fit the description. J I grew up on Long Hill Rd near the corner of Drake St so I know exactly where ur talking about. I used to get my haircut by Puerto Ricans on Walnut and the majority of the kids I grew up with lived on Walnut.

Cool. All good.

We were neighbors! LOL I lived mostly on Transit Street and Ward Street...short stay on Birch Street. There was an underground Puerto Rican club (In the basement of a building) down off Walnut I used to go with some PR friends back in the day...crazy crazy times.

I watched upper Walnut just implode when all the crazyness from NYC started making it's way up.

My extended family settled on Griggs and Hope street.

I can remember when upper Long Hill was mostly Italian and those neighborhoods were in tact and clean, and decent. I was like 6 but I remember it clearly. I think it's cool that my Grandmother went to Slocum School and so did I.
