I will be relocating to the Connecticut area and was wondering about delis/diners/bagels in Bethel CT. Can anyone give me some feedback and let me what places are good. Also if anyone knows anything about Miss T's Deli/Diner I would appreciate some info...Brigid Gillette

i'm picky about bagels myself but i found that most places in Danbury (where i lived) were not that great. forget Bagelman - no taste to the bagels. i did find one place though in a strip mall next to the Danbury mall. forget the name but they're a few doors down from the Barnes and Noble. you can't miss it since there's a big yellow 'Hot Bagels' sign above it. in the same complex is a Pepperidge Farm store (on the other side) and a restaurant called Sinapi's.
i went to a good diner on Mill Plain Rd Danbury. i think it's an Olympia but i don't remember.
there's a place called JK's as well that is very good but not sure it's considered a diner. and it is closer to Bethel (on South St i think).

Haven't been to Jk's in a long time. I also go to Bagleman about once or twice a week, and I don't havfe a problem with their bagels. I haven't tryed that bagel place over in the shopping center that you mentioned.

JKs is worth a visit...also
JKs in Danbury has been there a long time. Good breakfast place...also Texas Wieners, and sandwiches. Lots of local history and presence. Try it.
A bit further from Bethel but also unique is the Sandy Hook Diner in Newtown just off exit 10. OLD building...homey as heck. Good food....breakfast and lunch.
Also at exit 10 is a large modern diner (may be called the Blue Colony?)...very new building which replaced an older small one. Huge diner menu. It does a lot of business as it is just off Route 84 and caters to travelers.
Oh and you should try the Sycamore 50s style drive-in Bethel at least once....early 'fast food' such as hot dogs and hamburgers. A step back in time. Reasonable prices.
Look at roadfood.com for more info on these and others.

My Little Miss
Miss T's, a simple, inexpensive, Mexican flavored treat,
run by real and may I say humble people who know how to cook,
if your a pretentious starbucks type you will not enjoy it, please stay
away as we regular folks don't want you around. But if you know the
reason why you don't wash a car the day before it rains, you will
love this little gem in Bethel.

I love the Sycamore diner in Bethel - totally one of a kind. There is a very good italian-style deli in the middle of town, and a greasy spoon breakfast place in the shopping plaza next to Molten Java coffee shop (also a great spot in Bethel).
