How old are you?
what section of CT are you looking at?
Is that your only experience?
How much are you needing to make?

The jobs you could get with only that much experience are other hourly jobs like it, such as fast food restaurants, maybe cashiering in retail stores or something.
But they would likely need a face to face interview before hiring you (maybe not always) and it CERTAINLY wouldn't be enough to allow you to live here.
What they would pay you wouldn't even cover rent and utilities, they would pay likely in the 7-8 dollar an hour range with only minimal experience.
But if you are going to be living with family or friends then you may be able to have it work out.
Good Luck! Most retail stores such as Target, Walmart etc have online applications that you could access. they generally have an online test of sorts and then call you if their is a position available. As far as restaurants, you would probably have to go their to apply. Their is an amusement park in Bristol, CT that could give you seasonal employment as well, that might consider hiring with little experience.

Speak English well? You should come to UCONN and try to teach some of these Math T.A.s and professors english..
But seriously, have you tried teaching/tutoring Russian?
What is a J1 student?

Good question! J1 is the student visa authorization for that person to work here for, I believe, 4 months.

If you speak well enough English and dont have a REAL heavy (hard to understand) accent, then you should be able to find employment for the summer ok.
I would try an amusement park or something, other places may not hire someone who will only be around for 4 months.

Most retail stores hire seasonal employees for the summer (especially the back-to-school rush at the end of August), so that is also an option!

Look into working as a hotel clerk. Great way to meet people from all over the world. Keep in mind Connecticut is one of the most expensive areas in the country so make sure you can afford it. Crunch some numbers before you come!
Really consider the hotel thing, tho.
