Where did I say all Ecuadorians don't work?
We're talking illegals here - it is a fact that most illegals in Danbury come from Ecuador, and it's also a fact that the population of illegals is growing rapidly in Danbury due to new births. A good amount of them don't have a steady job - it's not possible for them to land a job most places if they aren't legal. Many stand downtown by the bus station looking for odd jobs. If they don't get picked up by someone, they'll walk from Franklin Street to White Street looking for work. Sure, it's great they're willing to work, but how is that helping us? How are they contributing to our society, as an illegal? Many of them take their non-taxed income and send it home, out of our country. Again - I don't see any benefits for us. They are called illegals for a reason. And if you're Ecuadorian, you should be offended that you or your parents had to go through a lot to become a U.S. citizen, where your former neighbors came here and disappeared within our borders. Not just offended, but outraged.
I find it interesting that in the same post where I was told to "get to know somebody before you judge them", multiple assumptions were made about me.
Also I just want to add that I do not think any of this is off topic as it is major a Danbury issue.
