Default Moving to Tolland

Hello...New poster here, long time lurker

I'm going to be moving to Tolland shortly. Specifically, I'll be living at Ivy Woods, right off exit 69 on i84.

The area seems gorgeous--full of parks with zero congestion whatsoever. Also, Vernon and Manchester are an easy drive away for anything I could possibly need, and all the basics (food, the gym, the bank, etc) are found off exit 68. Are there any downsides that I'm not aware of?

The commute on 84 seems like a breeze; although I could potentially be working anywhere in the state, aside from Fairfield County (I'm a math teacher who will be switching districts..just not exactly sure where yet). Aside from an accident, is 84 West ever stop-and-go in the morning (excluding Hartford, of course)? I figure I'll be on the road early enough to avoid any issues, either way (6:30 or so).

Also, the apartment complex has propane heating. From what I understand, this requires periodic fillups. I've had electric and natural gas heating in the past; never Propane. Do I pay for this on a monthly basis, or just at the time of fill-up..and not pay again until it runs out?

Thanks!

I happen to live in Ivy Woods, so you'll get a very specific review on the apartments and the town.

Apartments
-Beautiful. Don't worry about the propane, that's managements issue, not yours. The insulation is excellent in the winter. The staff is wonderful, the apartments are really wonderful.

Town
-I am upset with the direction growth in the town has been. It has been very sprawl like, there has been a lot of growth, and it has been down wisely. Exit 68 has congestion, the Big Y complex and the newer houses can be spotted off I-84, they didn't tuck it away nicely like Ivy Woods and compared to Willington it looks less rural.
-The area itself is very isolated. If you have a family or people in the area, you'll be fine. If not, it can get isolated, but I'm not sure if Manchester would be that different since people in suburbs aren't really that open.

Summary
-Apartments=great
-Area=mixed.

In Hartford and west of Hartford is generally where 84 will have issues. East of Hartford it's a breeze. That's one of CT's most rural areas, very nice and quaint.
