Default Angel Food Ministries

Has anyone ever participated in this?

My church just started the program, and I picked up my packages over the weekend. It seems great. I got the $30 basic package - enough food to feed a family of 4 for a week.

I've looked into it, but for us, the foods weren't something that we would eat. It would just go to waste. I remember foods like frozen lima beans, and processed, packaged foods. But I do think it's a great bargain for people who have no dietary limitations and few $$. And the foods change from month to month, too.

...odd to see a question about this posted on here...was just talking to patient family at work yesterday...she mentioned some of the things she received (elderly woman). Sounded like an excellent program...many churches involved....

They actually have pre-made meals available that are supposed to be well balanced. They also have an "allergen free" package.

April's menu also includes a fresh fruit and vegetable package.

Wow, their monthly food options have changed dramatically! When I checked out their website about six months ago, it was just one monthly collection of some pretty unappetizing foods. I think this is great for those in need, here's their website:

I have done it for three years and two months. I have only missed two months. We love it. It gives us food that I normally could not find or couldn't afford. We started with one box. I have decided last month to try to buy most of our food through Angel Food. Last month (march) I bought three boxes and two specials. This month I bought two boxes and one special. Just be cause I bought some meat on sale at the store. Other wise I am planning on buying at least four boxes next month if I can.
