Glastonbury Kids is a new documentary film about life for the average teenager in the wealthy suburban town of Glastonbury Connecticut. It was filmed over the course of two years and is currently being shown in film festivals around the country.
wonder if the kid that jumped off the balcony at the mall got arrested? I also found it interesting that the guy at the end of the clip said he has been arrested three times in six months. The Documentary Blog » Blog Archive » Glastonburykids Trailer

How do you define "average teenager"? Similarly, since you're obviously attempting to make a statement comparing the issues in suburbia (drug use) to the issues in a city like Hartford (violent crimes), would it be fair for me to post a video of thugs shooting thugs, and call them "average" for the hood?
The agenda is to make everything "good" to become "bad" and everything that is bad is that way because of the "good".
I.E. Having parents that work 70 hours a week to live in a suburb of Hartford with good schools and low crime is bad and somehow suppresses the "undervalued and underadvantaged" youth in Hartford who really just need a chance. They don't kill, steal or do drugs because they WANT to, they have no choice...they live in Hartford. Right? It's all because of those evil people in Glastonbury.

Reason: Removed insult
These kids are idolizing reality stunt shows. I can't watch stuff like that. I could be wrong, but it just seems like they had too much time on their hands.
So what is the big deal about this? There is one group of kids calling themselves a gang in town. There is another group of kids that go around doing stupid things. And yes, there are kids that get arrested in Glastonbury. That is big news??? Glastonbury is a town of 33,000 people with a wide range of backgrounds. Even though it is considered affluent that does not mean that nothing is going on here. Jay

I don't see what the point of this is.
Drug use is one of many negative issues that need to be dealt with in many suburban towns, but since you want to focus on drug use and inner-city violent crime we can do that. There is a direct correlation between the two. Where do you think those kids from Gbury go to spend Daddy's money on heroin?
Quote:
On the day he died, Jeremiah and two other young men had gone to Hartford, where he bought nine bags of heroin labeled "PREMIUM," good stuff by word on the street, too good for Jeremiah. He snorted several bags on the way back to Glastonbury. When he started to overdose, Erik Loura and Jason Miller decided to drop him off at his house instead of seeking the help that might have saved his life, police said.
One final thought: What if those kids in the documentary crashing vans into trees and jumping off the balcony at the mall were from Hartford?? I guarantee that all kinds of insults would be aimed at them by certain members of this forum.
Urban, suburban, rural; it doesn't matter. Drugs are everywhere.
Very true. However, ask yourself this: How many kids from Hartford go to Gbury to commit crimes? How many kids from Gbury go to Hartford to commit crimes (purchase drugs)???? You would find there are many more kids traveling from the 'burbs into the city than vice versa.

I'm very interested to see actual numbers to back this up. If you can provide that, then I might consider you a reliable source - might being the key word.

Wait, so you are telling me that the kids from Glastonbury are going into Hartford and shooting people, robbing people, comitting burglaries of homes, stealing cars, and comitting rape and then returning to their "white bred" sterile world at the ignorance of everyone around them?
THAT right there is pretty funny.
