Default Oak Tree In The Way?

A bank which wants to expand has an oak tree in the way and so they want to take it down. Its about 60 years old and rarely any left in the area.

This brings me back to my topic of who's cutting those trees near the parkway. Because a human wants to expand their bank, we need to take down yet another tree.

I dont mind BUT there are NO NEW TREES PLANTED past few years. I just dont understand why people can't just plant a tree in its place.

Here's the link to the story.

CT was BARE, clear cut farm land less than 100 years ago, and now the tree removal companies can't keep up as we are in an overgrowth position. In fact my land used to be a farm meadow but you would need a tropical machete to get through it when I moved in.

Just something to think about.

I took down 3 large trees in front of my house. They were overgrown past their life. One was 105 year old oak and had an ant's nest inside. (didn't know till we cut it down and found it 12" hollow on the inside.) The other two were 55 year old red maples. I'm sure they were decorative in their day when planted but were now monsters that poised a problem.

All three heated my house this Winter quite well...call it a "renewable resource".

I did the same. Cut down a big old Maple 10 feet from my house. Then split the wood myself and warmed the house. But I planted a new tree (Oak) nearby on the front lawn. 30 yrs that'll be cut down I'm sure.

How about when they throw it in the chipper? Pointless, right?
