Default Southington House - The Haunting Movie

I drove past the house that was the basis for the movie called The Haunting in Connecticut and there were ADT security trucks all around it. I was in the Southington area for an appointment with my manicurist. We were talking about the movie as her daughter had seen it and some of the things that the daughter told her about the movie were embellished quite badly and didn't occur within that house.

The present owners are claiming no strange activity now at all and have said that people have been awful...walking up to their home and looking in windows, walking all over the property. I then began to understand the ADT Security trucks being there.

What I wanted to say here is that when the haunting first occurred and it DID OCCUR, my son was dating a girl who was friends with this family. When the "cousin" of the children living in the house at the time came to visit, my son's friend was introduced to the girl and the four of them were going to go out on a double date. THIS IS TRUE! When my son went to the door with his friend to pick up the cousin...both of these boys could not go into the house. My son said he felt a pressure on his chest and could not enter and his friend totally backed away from the door.

The Warrens were called..two famous psychics and an exorcism WAS performed so all is supposedly well now with this house...so everyone is hoping.

The home was a former funeral parlor and when the initial family moved in there, the equipment from it being a funeral parlor was still there..it was a very EVIL place.I don't think it is right that people are now trespassing on this property and upsetting the current owners and perhaps this house needs to be sold and then demolished...so sad how lives can be ruined.

Well of course not, all the demons have been released and sent into the light, or wherever it is that demons go.

I saw the movie, and thought it was very entertaining. It doesn't surprise me that Hollywood would change the "facts" to make a better story, that's typical of movie producers. In the movie, the funeral parlor was more than just a funeral parlor, but that's all I will say so I don't give anything away. I know so many members here can't wait to see the movie, lol. But as for tearing down the house, if it's no longer haunted, what would be the point? I think if you buy a home with a history, you are also buying the history, unpleasant as it may be. I'm sure they were told the house was "haunted". The current owners could always sell and move, and with the notoriety of the home now they might actually make some money on the deal.

Beat02 is on a distinguished road
Why would the house be evil? Was it solely a funeral parlor with no other dark activities? I haven't seen the movie nor know the supposed "true" story.
