Is it doable? I would like to move back to CT and may have job prospect there, but would like to live in New Haven rather than Clinton. What do you all think?

I think your commute is very doable because you would be traveling against rush hour traffic. Depending on how long it would take you to hop on I-95, you'd be looking at a 30 to 35 minute commute each way. Possible delays include the Q-Bridge replacement project on I-95 (in New Haven) and vacation traffic during the summer.

The only thing to keep in mind is that you would not have the option of taking the train between New Haven and Clinton. Clinton is not served by morning eastbound trains (from New Haven) or evening westbound trains (towards New Haven).

I agree with Yankee, it is a reverse comute in the a.m. so it would be an easy ride. However you will still hit delays at the Q Bridge coming back in the evening, but it isn't too bad. It is usually just backed up from Frontage Rd. in East Haven into New Haven. If traffic is particularly bad on any given day heading home, you can always hop off 95 before the bridge (East Haven/Annex area) and go across the Tomlinson Bridge in New Haven avoiding the whole Q thing. I used to always do that and it seemed no one else used it as an alternate route.
