Hi, think i found a place on richard ave in norwalk..it is the Riverview apartments. Can anybody tell me anything about this area. I've read soo many negative things about Norwalk on here. I appreciate the truth , even if it is not what i want to hear. SOME INSIGHT ON THIS AREA IS PLEASE!! IS THIS CONSIDERED SOUTH NORWALK, EAST OR WHAT?

I wouldn't be worried about that area at all.
It's right near the Norwalk Community College and close to 95. It's a fine area.

I'm no expert on the public schools there, sorry. But i do believe that they score below the state average.
Perhaps someone else can confirm that for you.

Slimmy, I know the area very well. Not sure exactly which the riverview ones are but if they are the ones across Wallmart you are fine. It's not North, South or East but I wouldn't consider it West either. LOL You have that whole nice Connecticut Avenue strip of retail stores, banks, food shopping, gas stations, ect. You're close to I-95.

You can take CT Avenue down to make a right on Fairfield Avenue and that will take you into South Norwalk which is where people like to go to hang out at night. Bars, billards, movies, resturants, ect.

So you are fine there. Go for it. You renting or buying?

I agree with nature.
Schools dont matter really anyway beyond elementery. they bus the kids all over the place. My son probably goes to school with more kids from south norwalk than the kids at McMahon do.
No biggie. Its not a bad area at all.

My Nephew played baseball at McMahon but he went to Norwalk High. Now he goes to NCC.

Hey thanks guys. I will be renting. Riverview Apartments are right across the street from Walmart. I got the opportunity to go there over the weekend. You guys were right everything is literally right by your fingertips. It looks like my son will probably go to Mcmahon. I've notice that I am a minute or two from the Darien city line. Im goint to start checking out the schools. Just worried about heavy gang activity in the schools.. Do you all know anything about those high schools.?
