Default Haddam Neck location

Hi - Regarding the Haddam Neck section of Haddam, I know it is on the eastern side of the river near East Hampton and East Haddam, yet is part of Haddam and goes to Haddam schools across the river. Does anyone have info about the distance to the schools and if there are buses for the Haddam Neck kids? It looks like quite a long drive to go to school/activities everyday, and I'm wondering what it's like to live on the opposite side of the river from schools from anyone who has had experience. Thanks!

I live in haddam neck but on the east Hampton line so my daughter goes to EH schools....5-10 minutes from here. Her best friend lives in the haddam school district portion of the neck and has a 30-40 minute commute BY BUS to the haddam schools. We enjoy everything that haddam neck has to offer and are easily involved in all of the local community events but our kids are lucky not to have to travel do far to school....
