I am a 34 year old single male currently living in the Naugatuck Valley area and I find it to be pretty desolate for me although I'm sure its nice for families.

Anyway, I like being near NYC and the Stamford - Norwalk area seems to be the best option in Conn. Since I work in Stratford I'm not too concerned about traffic. I would have a reverse commute from Stamford/Norwalk.

Ideally I'd be looking to rent a one bedroom for $1250/month or less. I don't have to be downtown - could be anywhere in the vicinity. Within walking distance of the downtown area would be nicest but not necessary for me.

I'm wondering if anybody who has lived in Stamford or Norwalk and who had a good experience could recommend a building or landlord to me. Or if someone had a bad experience maybe they could help me to "dodge a bullet" so to speak.

Thanks very much,

Dave

I'm living in Norwalk right now. It's fairly difficult to get a nice one bedroom in your price range around here as there aren't a lot of apartment buildings here. However, there are a lot of people who own regular houses and have converted basements or areas above garages into apartments and they would run for around $900-$1000 often with utilities included.

I found an apartment by using a realtor. The one I live in now is $1,400 but there were a few apartments that were in the $1,200 range. I can give you his contact info if interested. He specializes in Stamford/Norwalk and I thought he was very good.

How long do you expect your commute to Stratford to be? We are moving this summer and info on commute times would be great. Thanks.
