I think Norwalk will be fine, it has many middle class communities and people with in similar salary ranges. The schools while not the best aren't horrible and like most circumstances education starts at home. I'm not sure what percentage of the town is Hispanic but there are enough to make you feel comfortable I'm sure. Good luck.

Both towns are excellent places to live. The costs will probably be similar with Southport being a bit cheaper since it is part of the Town of Fairfield which is a more diverse community economically. Westport overall is a more upscale town than Fairfield which has all types of people living there. The schools in each town are great and offer a lot services to students. I am not sure which will be better but I do not think you can go wrong with either. Good luck, Jay

While JayCT comes back....

Greenwich Gasoline is on of the most expensive. Westport is a bit less but I find it most affordable in Fairfield-always try to fill my tank there.

Groceries are generally expensive, you will have find the best prices. it takes time...join a BJs and buy in bunk while you learn where the best prices are. Best prices won't be in Westport or Greenwich. Neither town has affordable clothing either. Again, you will have to learn where the good affordable stuff is. I know people that go to NY for clothes shopping-34th street always has a good deal. Fairfield shopping is OK-not too bad. Learn where the malls are and go on Saturdays.

You are targeting some of the most expensive areas in the country (Greenwich, Westport, Southport). Cost of living in these places will be high so it is important that you learn your way around and do most of your shopping elswhere.

Buena suerte,

And, in the state of CT, our most expensive communities do not have diversity, therefore they do not have a need to implement curriculum plans for those who do not have an excellent command of English. You will likely need to obtain a tutor, at your cost, to help get your children up to speed.

Thanks Stratford, I was looking about ESOL programs in that schools districts by line, and the information is yes, they have, anyway we will confirm it calling directly to the probably schools the kids will attend.

The thing that is worring us is the cost of living, it seems that Fairfield is better for us. We need to look for more houses for rent there, we didn´t find one this weekend. Have to wait..... :s

I am aware that I am very late, but I found this forum by accident and I find it very rude for someone whom does not reside in Norwalk to insult it's school system. I myself lived in Greenwich as a child, but I moved to Norwalk, a lovely town with an EXCELENT school system and I attended Norwalk High School, which is a GREAT school.
