Interested in moving to Danbury, CT & commuting to the Bronx for work. Anything I should be concerned with?

Danbury is over 50 miles from the Bronx and will take over an hour without traffic. With traffic it could be significantly more. And there will be traffic. I am not sure I would want to do it. Maybe you should try the commute first before actually moving. Jay

Many people do commute to the Bronx from Danbury. You do get a lot more house for your money than being closer to the city, and the property taxes are much more favorable. Prices for single family homes range from the mid $100s up to over $2 million, and from about $75,000 to about $750,000. The average list for condos is around $285,000 (per CMLS 4/29/08) and $397,000 for single family homes. Good luck!

Jon

I commute to the Bronx from Ridgefield. I leave at 5:30 and it takes an hour. It will take at least an hour to drive. There is a HART bus that goes to the Brewster station, which may be an option for you.

Good Luck...

definitely suggest taking the bus to Brewster to catch the train. i did this every day to White Plains and it couldn't have been more convenient. the only thing i didn't like was that it was a long day - caught the 6:50a bus to catch the 7:15 train and got to work at about 8. left at 5 to catch the 5:11 back to Brewster. would usually get home about 6:30 or so..

Just curious since I was wondering what is the best town to live in if you need to commute into NYC. I was thinking Stamford.
