Default Hamden & New Haven Condominiums

Hi - I am a single female in her 20s looking to purchase a condo in the hamden/new haven area. I am looking for a place that has a good proximity to downtown, has a pool, and tends to house other young couples/singles. Does anyone have any complexes that come to mind? I would prefer it not be available to renters/young undergrad college kids but still have a younger mix of people.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Can anyone comment on condominium complexes in the Hamden and New Haven area that have amenities such as pools, gyms, etc?

Jeanne - I think you may need to talk to a real estate agent in the area to find out about condo complexes. There are soooo many. Also try realtor.com to at least get an idea of different ones. It will allow you to search for those that meet you specific needs (pool, gym, etc.). Once you have some names of complexes that meet your criteria, maybe someone here would be familar with them. Good luck. Jay

Default Hamden

I graduated from college in Hamden just this year and I can tell you a lot of the luxury apartments in the town prohibit undergrads from living in their complexes. It's also pretty standard for freshmen, sophomores and juniors to live on campus. So if you happened to pick out an apartment not prohibiting students, you'd likely only be around seniors anyway. Avalon and Aspen Glen are beautiful apartments in the Hamden Hills section of town; offering a pool, fitness center, and just a genuinely nice area. They house some families, but I think there is a decent younger crowd too. Living in New Haven obviously gives you easier access to a great night life and most likely a younger crowd though.
