Default Thoughts on Deep River and Chester

Can someone please tell me the pros and cons of Deep River and Chester? I've been looking for a smaller, walkable town with friendly and down to earth people, that has a decent school system and a community feel. By walkable, I mean a town that I can walk for coffee, grab a book at the library, and pick up my son from school without having to step in a car to do these things. Does Deep River and Chester offer what I'm looking for?

Chester, Deep River, and Essex are all part of Regional School District 4 and consolidate at the middle school.

These towns are pretty small and only have small downtown areas with limited homes within walking distance. You will need to visit each to see if they meet your needs. JAy
