I also have a huge customer base in Newtown and I find your comment way off the mark. The majoirty of Newtown residents are not anything like that. They are welcoming, friendly, give-their-shirt-off-their-back-to -help-you type of people. Very down to earth. The people are the main reason Newtown is a great place to live.

Once Newtown is seen it is not usually someones second choice. It's a great town with great residents.

I deal with people all over the state, and that's been my impression of the "new" Newtown. (And somewhat the "new" Southbury) Like the dentist that tried to do our work himself against my advice and then tried to sue me over it saying it was somehow my fault that he screwed it up. (The suit was thrown out) Right. Nice guy. You know the type that says "look at my this and that" "I teach at X and Y" etc etc all the while being mortgaged to the teeth with it all. No thanks.

Perhaps you're confusing Bridgeport with North Stamford or the Silvermine/Cranbury areas of Norwalk? The OP won't find acre lots in Bridgeport. Well, actually i do know of one acre+ lot in Bridgeport. A little bit above the OP's budget though!

Seeing how expensive Newtown is, and having lots of experience with Newtown residents, most can afford lower FFC, but choose to get more for their money up-county.

Some. Not all. Frankly IMO it's a problem in most one-time affordable FFC towns...mostly to the North.

I grew up in Waterbury/Prospect and spent many many days in Southbury, Woodbury, Sandy Hook etc due to work, girlfriend, family etc and I can tell you...it's not the same place it was in the early 90's. IMHO a lot of the new development has come from those who had to make a compromise regarding lower FFC - mostly due to cost prohibition.

That's my take, that's my opinion. BTW I'm sure Monroe has some of it too, I just don't see it as much as Newtown.

That's exactly my point. They wish to have a newer "colonial" in Newtown vs maybe an older 60's small colonial or 70's contemporary in lower FFC. Why? I'm sure some of it is due to the reasons I stated.
