Additional services? Better schools?

Thank you.
From a tax standpoint, don't try to compare them by dollar "value". If you compare specific criteria, like for example, a 6yr. old 4500sq.ft. colonial on 1 acre, you'll find that the actual tax bill will be fairly linear, irregardless of what town or city the property is located in. This home might sell for $3M in Greenwich, maybe $2.75M in New Canaan, perhaps $2.25M in Fairfield, and maybe $1.25M in Trumbull. But no matter how you dice it, the tax bill for our example home will be fairly similar no matter which town it's located.

CTtoCT,

We are moving to CT next month and spent a long time researching, I would suggest Westport. The schools are excellent, depending on where you live, you can walk to shops/restaurants, and its close to the train.

I don't know if this matters since your children are so young but Westport HS has a rugby team that does quite well in its age group. Beaches, country clubs, pools, and parks are all quite plentiful and close by. Having lived in London for a bit, driving in the states is easier but on the other side of the road so it takes a bit of getting used too.

All towns are fine choices but it usually comes down to the nicest house that the wife likes. Happy wife, Happy life!

Good luck!
