I need friends!
Hello!
I am an Italian girl just moved (few months) from Cyprus to Norwalk Connecticut for business reasons.
I found the place so beautiful but I have a serious problem...I need to meet people, hang out with friends....
I appreciate whoever would like to introduce me to any association, club or group of people to have some fun together!
Thanks and looking forward to hear from you!
Miki

Check to see about a Newcomers Club in Norwalk. It will help introduce you to other new people like yourself. Another thing is to check into are courses offered through the Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department and Norwalk Community College. Also the local library may have interesting programs. Also remember to try to be open to people. Do not expect them to approach you. People here respect other people's privacy and do not generally approach you unless you approach them and show an interest in being friendly. Good luck, Jay

Now this is an interesting problem. In Perugia or Ferrara or a thousand other Italian cities you meet people because everyone is out in public, in the squares and streets and cafes and other public places. In the US, after business hours the sidewalks are empty; no one is around. Where is everyone? In their cars, at home watching TV... In New York it's a little different but in Norwalk or just about anywhere else, there's no scene. So Jay is right; you have to attend programs, take classes, get into social networks. Good luck!

Well, I have already subscribed the club that Jay recommended.
The description you made about the difference between Italian cities and here is so true! I didn't imagine that would be like this...
I was even considering to move to Miami...but I like this area a lot indeed.
Thank you so much, I was feeling very isolated and your messages really made my day... :-)

You should also start seeing more people out and about now that the weather is getting warm. Winters are tough because everyone sort of stays in but once the weather gets nice, people get out. Jay

Yeah, she'll "really make friends" there , the ones she can do without.
Better to make friends slowly with those of good character which last a lifetime.
