Will Chris Dodd win re-election?
I have the feeling that this Senate race will be one of the closest in CT history. Does anyone else feel the same way? Do you think Chris Dodd has a chance of re-election?

I think he will win. Why? Because we are CT - Land of steady habits. He lost my vote though.

It annoys me a bit that once our Congressmen achieve important positons in the senate or House, we then dump them. It almost happened to Leiberman, happened to Weicker and others. I do not understand it. True power in DC comes from longevity (that is how the southern states got so powerful) and it seems counterproductive to the best interest of the state to dump Dodd. They were never supposed to make a career out of public service... It was never intended to be that way. It's time to throw out the career politicians and make way for fresh ideas. Dodd has to go! (among others)

And i would actually say thats the problem. the "power" goes to their heads and they start to act like idiots.

Yeah but to get anything done in DC, you need power and you only get power through longevity. If we keep changing our legislators very couple of years we will have little or no influence in DC. That is why we have lost some key federal installations over the years and always end up getting less than other states. Jay

I certainly hope not since he was the one who received the most campaign cash of any senator from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two companies that he defended against increased regulation. We all know the rest of the story!

Jay your point is interesting, I never actually looked at it that way! But I do have to agree with Tetto, I think Chris Dodd has done his duties for Connecticut, however, I think we need new leadership with a new face and new ideas. Let's see how it all plays out!
