Default Stamford to Easton

Hi all.......
My wife and I are thinking of moving from Stamford to Easton, we really like the whole feel of the place. I work in the Bronx, NY., and take the Merritt parkway. The traffic is my big concern on the way home. It seems there is usually no problem up to exit 35. I'm wondering how the traffic is at about three in the afternoon from exit 35 to exit 46. A few times I was headed southbound at about 4:30 and the northbound side traffic looked really bad, bumper to bumper.
My wife works in Manhattan and takes the train. What station would she take the train from if we lived in Easton ?
We are thinking this might be to much for us. Your thoughts ?

Easton is a beautiful town, but commuting to New York will be a chore. Don't get me wrong, many people do it but it is not easy. Your wife would need to take the train from Fairfield or Bridgeport. There is more parking in Bridgeport.

As for your commute, it is about 50 miles to the Bronx so wihtout traffic it is about an hour or a little more. By 3:00 traffic is just starting to build on the parkway northbound, so there may be days when you hit some and there will be days when you won't. You can sign up for traffic alerts from ConnDOT that may help you plan your trip each day. Good luck, Jay
