Default ideas for quick, good lunch in Branford or Guilford?

I will be in the Branford/Guilford area tomorrow, exploring a bit and looking around for places to live. Any suggestions for a good lunch in a place that gives me a feel for either for those towns? Seafood - burger - sandwich, something along those lines that's genuinely local? Thanks!

I would suggest that you Google these for the addresses and phone numbers:

In Guilford:

Chips Pub II (popular family place; this is on Route 1, in back, away from the road)

The Guilford Mooring (seafood/pub food on the water)

Quattro's Italian (tasty and somewhat pricey Italian food a few steps from the Guilford Green)

In Branford:

Stony Creek Market (sandwiches and soups with direct view of Thimble Islands)

Darbar India (awesome Indian restaurant on the Branford Green)

La Cuisine (Cafe/caterer with very good French cuisine and bakery with reasonable prices, located on Route 1)

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I did not get them in time for this visit, but I will keep the info and check them out in the future. I really, really liked both towns and hope to buy in one of them soon. For what it's worth, I stopped in at Lenny's Indian Head based on a variety of online reviews (and because I was hungry when I passed by it). Maybe it was the lousy rainy weather, but I found it pretty average. Pricey too, for what is essentially a clam shack. Maybe I'll be more impressed on a better, sunny day, on the patio with a beer in hand. Anyway, thanks again for the suggestions.

As long as you like your neighborhood, you can't go wrong with those towns. They are great places to live.

I've driven by Lenny's a million times, but never gone in there. My favorite place for seafood in the area is "The Place" in Guilford. Although, expect the unexpected, and expect to get dirty.

One of the best restaurants in the area is Le Petit Cafe on the Branford Green. They have a fixed-price (somewhat expensive) menu, and the food is great. If you like French food, also check out Union League Cafe in New Haven. That is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

Thanks so much for the additional suggestions. I can't wait to start exploring the area and trying some of those restaurants. I've heard about The Place from others and am really looking forward to going there. Sounds like my kind of thing.
