You should keep visiting potential places of work and don't give up. Call and follow up on EACH opportunity, not once, or twice, but often. Every other day if necessary. Sometimes it's good to be a pain in the butt. It shows interest and drive! Best of luck to you.

There are lots of places that have better riding weather than CT.

I won't debate that. There are also plenty of places with far worse riding weather.

You've been given good advice by several people who have taken time out to provide it to you. You don't want to hear anything except someone agreeing with you.
The fact is there are jobs everywhere... However at this point since there are a lot of applicants, only those with the best attitudes and skills are getting hired. That's unfortunate for low-skilled 20 year olds, but I suspect for you the problem is more attitude than anything else.

To those people who say places like CT have only two months of good weather that is not true.
And as far as FL goes, it is very pleasant in the winter but is hot and humid and miserable for most of the year.
It was 86 degrees here the other night at 2am( that was the low) and like a sauna. I find most people hibernate here inside with the A/C. You don't see kids playing outside in the summer, and the swimming pool is like bathwater.
Acipenser, you hit the nail on the head, people go from the A/C house to the A/C car. You become a prisoner of air conditioning.
I think people spend more time inside here than in other parts of the country.
Can't speak for NC or SC, but I do find the weather here in FL very uncomfortable, and considering how you can drive through most areas and see very few people outside, I think most feel the same way.
You get three or four months of great weather and miserably hot the rest of the year.
Many people call this time of the year the "Florida Winter".

I was in SC while in the Navy and could not stand being outside in the summer. I love New England weather and prefer to have every season especially a snowy winter.

So you must only be looking into coastal SoCal. Unless, of course, you prefer riding in extreme heat (AZ & vicinity), humidity (southern US), rain (PNW), or snow (extreme northern US) much of the year.
Or did you want to move to Kansas? (tornadoes & storms)
