Hi asanteq,

I think among others, you can consider Fairfield (town of). It has good schools, and it is convenient to both Milford and Bridgeport (New Haven a bit further but not bad). Rents have dropped in the last year so you will have no problem finding a townhouse, perhaps even walking distance to schools, at a reasonable price.

Other towns to consider: Trumbull (not on the water), Milford, and Stratford. Trumbull and Fairfield will be more upscale that the other two. Milford will have the best shopping.

Best wishes with your move,

Hey asanteq,
We will be moving to CT in July as well. My company rents specialized hospital beds to Bridgeport and many other hospitals in CT. So, we're looking at rentals in the Waterbury Meridan New Haven areas. Good Luck.

Try also looking into Guilford and Madison (both are beautiful and on the water!!!!) or up in that area - You'll have an opposite commute. I wouldn't want to drive to Fairfield on I95 or the Merritt Pky everyday. Check out the travel. DH used to commute from Fairfield to Norwalk (8) miles and on a busy/rainy day it could take 40 minutes. btw it's rained 36 days here in a row!!!
