Hope everyone is ok.

Was there damage or large hail anywhere in northern New London County? It looked like that storm went right by Colechester.

It really tore up some towns south of Hartford!

Yup...big time damage in Middletown/Whethersfield/Farmington/S. Hartford.

Something like 80% of Farmington has no power.

I was walking into West Farms when the sky opened up and all that hail came down. As soon as my daughter and I got into the mall the power went out. The emergency power came on and was able to light the center of the mall but the stores ended up shutting down. Traffic on the main road was a nightmare, I'm surprised there weren't more accidents. I wound up taking back roads home and saw portable basket ball hoops that were on top of cars and trees and limbs down all around. I got lucky and didn't have any damage to my house, most of my neighbors weren't so lucky and the elementary school down the street caught on fire (not sure how how big the fire was or how much damage was caused)

Colchester/Hebron/Marlborough got SLAMMED. Downed trees, powerlines, etc. One of the most powerful storms I have ever lived through (and I've lived through an actual tornado in North Carolina). I'm glad everyone is okay though, for the most part. It was scary enough, but let's just be thankful we are all safe!

It was quite the storm. I was leaving the Post Mall in Milford and was waiting at the light...for a good 30 seconds I could feel the wind and rain shaking my car a little. It was pretty intense. Took me an hour to go 9 miles - the Merritt was a nightmare.

Not too much damage in Shelton, just some downed branches and minor street flooding in low lying areas.

I left Hartford at 4:15pm yesterday to drive to Westchester County and drove down I-91 to I-95 (something I normally would not do on a Friday afternoon especially in the summer, usually take 84 to 684) to try and "beat" the very nasty looking clouds I saw in the direction of I-84 west. Somewhere between Bridgeport and New Haven I could swear I saw a twister in the distance, I learned later there was a tornado warning in the area, but no confirmed reports of anything. Very scary! Took me 3+ hours on what is normally a 90 minute drive for me. I hope everyone's OK!

Yes, they announced a possible tornado in the Fairfield area moving east on the radio.

Also saw on the online Courant that maybe a 2nd tornado near Wethersfield. Anyway, if the Fairfield one is confirmed it would be the first one I've ever seen "live". Wild!
