Cheshire Anyone????????????
I want to relocate to bethany, woodbridge, or cheshire and so far cheshire seems to be the best area to move to, but I need more opinions on the town-
does is it have a lot of multi acreage lots, how safe are the neighborhoods and which are most desirable?!

Well I lived in Cheshire for 8 years and nannied in Woodbridge before going to grad school so I am familiar with both areas ( I had an early morning job in Bethany as well..does that count too ) Bethany is very very boring..no real town to it..just trees..I mean I like trees and nature but it's a bit overkill there LOL! Woodbridge is very nice..again lots of trees (okay I'm in Charlotte in new construction and I would kill for some of those trees) again no real town of Woodbridge. Woodbridge is very convenient to New Haven. Where will you be working? All towns have safe neighborhoods, you'll get the usual teenage vandals from time to time but that is about it. I dont' like the area of Cheshire by Waterbury (past 84) I'm trying to think of where the mult acerage lots would be in Cheshire (though we rented the upstairs of an organic farm for a few years which was great..but it was in a commercial type area..well kind of) hmmmm.....where is the realtor guy from Cheshire..Rich??? Bethany Mountain Road area has larger lots I think. Have you looked at a realtor sight?
I pulled this up in Cheshire with 2 acres in South Cheshire (I prefer the south end myself)
removed
you can do an advanced search on ... and look for a particular acerage

Yes, I have actually checked in realtor.com and ... I found couple of house that appealed to me in cheshire...
Moderator cut: no MSL listings here
Melkat,
What do you think of these properties, are the areas good (why is there so much of a cost difference between Dundee and Westin ).
Hope to Hear from you soon!
p.s.- I did not find many multi acreage lots, so I thought around 1 acre would be fine as well.(dundee dr lot is ver small!)

In Cheshire, most Colonials sell for $200/sf. For whatever reason, there's price support for the Moss Farm subdivision. As I mentioned earlier, some folks really like high-density sub-divisions and others don't.
When I looking 5 years ago, my agent approached me regarding the acreage that her husband, a builder, had purchased. Knowing that it was going to be a 4- or 5-house subdivision, I had them put in writing that it wasn't going to have sidewalks or street lights.

Wow lots of info. that really comes to use! Is the Cornerstone Dr house really in such a rural place that there are "dead zones"?! Well, thanks for the reply.
I am actually planning to go to the open house in dundee drive (what a coincidence)!

Hi Sri,
No, it's not that rural. There's just something about the reservoir that severs calls on Verizon.

My realtor sent a property (land) where a builder-ricci construction group- would build a house in my price range on one lot despite the fact that the subdivision (Kensington Estates) starts from about $600k, do you think this is a good deal? Also, she said it is off of country club road near wolf hill & rt.70- is this a desirable area/do the houses have a decent distance form each other??
From,
Sri.

First of all, I sincerely doubt that the builder will do this for three reasons: 1) he wants to maximize his profits, 2) he will greatly impact the remainder of his subdivision, and 3) there is demand for $600,000+ new construction in Cheshire.
As for distance from each other, it is a subdivision. Acreage, according to the listings, ranges from 0.97 acre to 1.07 acres (just two are currently listed, $729,900 and $619,900, respectively).
I believe I now know the name of the agency with which you are working...

Rich,
Thanks for your input/opinion on the subject, but I beleive you got info. on the wrong subdivision. I am talking about Kensington Esates, a 10 lot subdivision, ( I checked on calcagni and saw 3 current listings- 599,900,674,500,689,900).
I beleive your thinking of Country Club Acres- 2 lots.
