It's a nice place to go see Steely Dan at the Chevrolet Theater every summer...
That's all I know.

Wallingford is a nice suburb of New Haven, population around 40,000. Nice mix of economics, complete with huge mega-mansions, quaint family-friendly neighborhoods, apartment complexes, subsidized housing. Has tons of amenities, and is close to several area malls. Schools are good, home prices are relatively affordable. Most parts are very, very pretty. However, some areas (which include the Downtown and the Route 5 strip) are a bit run-down and depressed looking, some urban blight here and there, but nothing too, too bad. All in all, a great town! Do you have any questions in particular? It's a bit difficult to describe an entire town in one little post!

Good post.
I would agree with everything except for DT being run down. DT is technically N/S Elm and Center Street and it's very well kept with Rosemary Choate bordering it. Going West on Center towards the gazeebo it starts to show some age...but IMHO it's not ghetto type run down, just old.

Are you looking at living there? There are some sections that are better then others if you inquire about it.

Wallingford is a middle-class town that is somewhat diverse, but there is a lot of older folks. There are a few run down neighborhoods such as S. Cherry St, but in general it's a pretty well-kept town. Not a bad town to run a business in IMO.
