Red face Closest Beaches

I am looking for the closest easiest beach to get to from Thompson CT. Anyone have information on this?

Here is a link to CT state parks. Many have swimming and some are lake and some are salt water swimming.

Parking at state parks is a nominal $7.00/day.

From Thompson, Misquamicut, RI would be a great choice. Lots of available parking there. Check out Rocky Neck SP as well.

I would definatelt recommend Misquamicut it's just over CT border in RI.
We went to rocky neck this weekend and regret it I haven't been there since I was a kid and it was just so over crowded very little actual beach area and sand. Tried walking up and down the beach and could barely move to many people.
It does look good for camping tho that part was packed.

Misquamicut hands down

Just wondered if there was an unknown that I have missed all these years. I guess Misquamicut is it no matter what. Appreicate all the responsed though. May make use of the state park info for a quick day trip. Thanks a bunch!
