Default Farmington, CT

Hello,
I am planning to move to Farmington, CT from midwest, potential job offer. How's the cost of living, crime etc in Farmington? Would you recommend any other good places to live nearby Farmington?

Farmington is a very nice town. One of the richest towns in central CT. It is close (10-15 minutes) to a lot.

Farmington, Avon, West Hartford are
Executive areas= $$$$.

Depending what town you'll work
in there's plenty of less costly
towns.

Not sure what you mean by inexpensive?
Do you want to buy or rent at first?

Highway access is pretty easy to & from Farmington.

Many commuters live outside of the Farmington Valley to
live in less costly areas.

Towns like E. Hartford, Manchester, So.Windsor, Vernon,
Wethersfield, New Britian, Bloomfield, Rocky Hill might be a good
choices for you, even the Capital Hartford.

Farmington, Avon, W.Hartford, Canton, Simsbury are $$$
to buy &/or rent.

Get in touch w/a Relocation Specialist that
can answer all your Q's & what your looking for.

Good luck!

Areas east of the Connecticut river have lower housing costs and less sprawl- I suggest you check into East Windsor, South Windsor, Manchester, and Vernon (all east of the river) but not a long commute- Farmington West Hartford, Avon and Canton will be more costly. Although Farmington is a very charming town.

Farmington sucks, I've lived here for 14 years, & they've finally managed to run me out by raising my taxes so high I can't afford to live here with my two girls. They think its so great, but, I can't even get out of my driveway without saying a hail mary. I clean up dunkin donuts cups so much its disgusting. High crime & break ins once a month. Go to Plainville, its much better.

Plainville??? You are kidding right?

Farmington is considered one of the most desirable towns in the greater Hartford area. The schools are excellent performing well above the state averages on the Connecticut Mastery Tests and having reasonable class sizes (around 20 students per class). Unfortunately, like most places, you get what you pay for and Farmington is not cheap. Jay

Don't knock Plainville. It's no Farmington, but it's not a bad town in itself. I've lived here my entire life without a problem or complaint! As for Farmington, crime is definitely not an issue that I have ever heard of! Break ins once a month are you kidding me?!

Farmington is desired area, and central connecticut towns vary great a bit town by town. I personally believe that there are many factors to consider when chosing a town up here. I am a realtor and would be happy to answer any questions that you have. I have lived in 3 out of four of these corners.
Sincerely,
Julia Malik
