If you're going to be working in Windsor I'm assuming you'll be in the Day Hill Road area. Try looking in Granby/East Granby. They're both lovely small towns, and just minutes from Windsor.

Windsor itself would work for you. Try to stay north of I-291 and Route 218. Generally the further north the better. Also, I would not be scarred of the weather here. It rarely gets that bad and the roads are generally well maintained when it does snow. Jay

I am finding it difficult to find any in Windsor except for Rivers Bend. I have read a few posts and most seem to say to stay away from there.I have found a few older apartment houses that look cute, does anyone have any advice? In addition, what is the Simsbury Center like? Is it a town or community and are there any apartments there?

If you are looking for apartments, Manchester has the largest selection of newer "luxury" apartments in the area - they are located around the Buckland section. There are 4 large ones that I can think of off the top of my head. The commute to Windsor will take about 15-20 minutes tops.
I'm out of time or I would post some names, but I'm sure they will show up on Google.
Good luck!

Simsbury is a beautiful upscale town in the Farmington River valley. The center of town is located on Route 10. It is a small walkable downtown with some homes and a few apartments. You might be able ot find something there but note that it is a desirable area and good ones will go quickly. Jay

My manager is relocating also and is looking at Simsbury. He told me to look around there but so far all I have found is one listing for appartments. I'm not sure how much more I can do until I get a chance to have a look around, that should be in November sometime.

Simsbury is a great town. If the apartment you're looking at is in the Simsbury Center area and it's where I think it is, definitely jump on it. You'd be right in the center of town on Hopmeadow Street, within walking distance of everything. The town overall isn't walkable but that area is. You could get to Windsor by just taking Route 315 through Simsbury's Tarriffville neighborhod, then pick up 189 in neighboring Bloomfield.
Good luck!!!

Look in Windsor locks as there are MANY apartments available there. The commute would be short and easy in snow since their are many MAIN roads or highways you could use to avoid the icy side roads.
Check craigslist for apartments.. My family owns 2 apartments there but they are currently rented...sorry.
