Default Residential Real Estate in Hartford County

We recently moved to Hartford County as my wife got an admission in UCONN, Farmington, CT. We are thinking of buying a house in the neighborhood within 20-25 miles of Farmington.

Can some one please guide us as to which is the safe area and has a growth potential as we may sell the house after 3 years and go back to Eastern PA?

We will truly appreciate your help.

Since no one can predict what the economy will be like in 3 months or 3 years, I would strike "growth potential" from your criteria. Also, given your radius of 20 - 25 miles, you could also consider eastern Litchfield and northern New Haven Counties as these areas fall within your stated distance.

Any established suburb with good schools would be best IMO. Farmington, West Hartford, Avon, Cheshire to name a few. I second what Rich said - nobody can tell what the economy will do, short and long term.

You will need to give us more information. How much is your budget? What type of area do you want to live in (rural, urban, suburban). West Hartford is a great town with a wide range of housing options. It is very desirable and historically good for resale. Jay
