Default Branford, Milford, Guillford?

Hey Jay and All,

Maggie here back after a few months. I have been researching and doing some work with some CT realtors as far as listings are concerned.

It seems like Branford, Milford, Guillford are really gorgeous and more affordable than a lot of Fairfield County. Are they nice towns as far as people, culture, etc? They all seem to have nice town centers.

What's the average commute into NYC or the Westport area with or without traffic? Good train service from those towns?

Thanks again, Jay,

Maggie

Hi Maggie - These are all excellent towns. Milford would offer the best and easiest options for commuting into New York and to Westport. It is a regular stop on Metro North's New Haven line so getting into the city should not be an issue. The train ride to New York is direct and about 90 minutes in length. To Westport the train ride is about 25 to 30 minutes.

Branford and Guilford are served by Shoreline East trains which run into New Haven. There you would have to switch to a Metro North train to get to Westport and New York. Commuting from Branford or Guilford into New York would be a long trip. Overall it is about two and a half hours. Not something I would want to do daily. The train to Westport would not be quite as bad but it would still be over an hour overall. Jay
