Default Chestnut St Bridgeport, CT - Apartment review

I'm thinking to buy an apartment on Chestnut St. Bridgeport, CT.
How is the area? Anyone lived there? How is the management? How much is the common charge? Rental price for a 1 BR apartment? Any reply, comments are appreciated.
Thanks Peter

They tore down a portion of that street to build a new elementary school. The neighborhood is decidely more of an investor area, than it is an owner occupied one.

This street is on the edge of a neighborhood called "The Hollow". Nearby Pequonnock Street and Harral Avenue are known to have issues with crime and drugs. As Stratford noted many investors own and rent out units there. This could give you issues with finding affordable financing. I would be careful before buying there. JMHO, Jay

Default Live there or not?

Hi Jay and Stratford,
thanks for the info. I'd like to live there, but if the area is too bad probably I'll try to rent it out. Do you guys now anything about the management and the rental rates? Is there a way to check out the common charges and/or the managements financial situation?

thanks,
Peter
