Default Need efficiency apartment in Groton/New London area

Hi,

I am doing a project for Pfizer in Groton, CT and will be commuting there during the week. I just need a very small, inexpensive efficiency apartment that I can rent for month to month or at least six month intervals. I would also consider a six month lease in vacation rentals that are being unused during the fall/winter. A room in a home with private access would also be OK.

Any leads?

Thanks!

Some properties on Vacation Rentals by Owner offer off-season rates. VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner

Thanks guys. Have turned up a few so far, but nothing nailed down yet.

And as far as Pfizer helping, I am not a Pfizer employee, but a contractor/consultant, so they have no responsibility to help.

A LOT of people in the "career change" program I was in this summer were laid off by Pfizer in eastern CT. And for that matter, my job in Westchester County for years was in recent years heavily dependent on one or two Pfizer projects, and Pfizer pulling the plug on them was a big factor in my job being eliminated. So Pfizer has not really been spending money for awhile.....

That said, I had your same problem this summer as the program was nowhere near where I'm from. For one month I found a short-term sublet via Craigslist. For the other month, I convinced a local discount chain motel (not an extended-stay hotel, which is actually quite expensive and use a chain like Motel 6 or America's Best Value Inn, the "independent" discount motels tend to be cheesy) to give me a deep discount knowing that I would be there for a few weeks. It will cost more than a Craigslist sublet, but you will get heat/AC, cable TV and hi-speed Internet (and often an efficiency, or at least a fridge and microwave), whereas in the latter you'd probably pay for that separately.
