My wife and I are starting the process of looking for a new place to live within CT. We currently live in Meriden and have decided to start a family so time to move into a house and out of the town house. We narrowed our search down to Southbury, Middlebury, Watertown/Oakville and Wolcott. What is the best way to get information on the different schools in these areas? We are planing on starting a family and want to take everything into account with the move. Also any other areas you would recommend? I work in Hartford and my wife works in Brookfield. We are both from the Newtown area and would prefer to be closer due to family in the area. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

You also might want to take a look at Oxford. We were looking at Southbury but ended up in Oxford and I'm glad that we did. The schools are great and there is a wonderful before and after school program that is perfect for two working parents. Netwon is also nearby as I have family there myself! Good Luck in your search. Feel free to DM me with any speific questions!

Take a look at the upper Valley towns as well. Seymour, Beacon Falls, and Prospect all appear to be poised to continue gaining in popularity. Oxford is certainly worthy as well, but it has already been "discovered" IMHO.
