Default Working in Bristol, Where to Live?

Ive dont a decent search on this site for what Im looking for, but I couldnt find anything exactly in my parameters. So here goes. I am a very recent college graduate, and I landed a job in Bristol, CT. I would like to know where a good place to live would be with a young professional/post college crowd. Here are my parameters:

-Not in Hartford

-I am interested in a good bar/dating scene

-Will live within a 30-45 minute commute

-Not in Litchfield County as much as possible.

Thanks to everyone for any suggestions.

West Hartford would probably meet your needs. Middletown would work too, but I think that would be longer than 45 minutes for commute time. You say you don't want Hartford, but you may want to consider Downtown.

I agree with Amy and West Hartford and Middletown are really the only two choices i can think of within your criteria. Just an FYI West Hartford is It's own town separate from Hartford.

I actually used to work in WH, the only reason I never considered it was because I never figured it as a good dating/bar scene. I know areas like Blue Back Square might be alright, but I just thought the town was mainly for families or old people. Maybe Im wrong.

Your wrong. West Hartford center is great for bars etc. BlueBack square is newer and has a more upscale feel. I would stick to the bars in the center instead. I'm in my twenties and before I was married my friends and I were down there all the time.
