Default Offer accepted in Burlington

We have just had our offer accepted for a home in Burlington. I really liked the feeling of the town. It reminded me very much of where I grew up. Small, hilly, green town. We love the home and I was impressed by the schools during our visit. (Great technology.) I am a little concerned about the press regarding the Superintendent and the online usage issue. Additionally, I'm wondering why a house in Burlington (Johnnycake Mtn.) sends students to Harwinton, rather than all elem students attending Lake Garda? Basically, anyone who lives/lived there, if you can give me your two cents. Schools, towns or services... Thanks!

And any summer programs for kids!

I have family in Burlington on Polly Dan Road near Johnnycake Mtn. I understand that that part of Burlington shares schools with Harwinton because of the proximity from that part of town. The two communities are regionalized (Region 10) and are considered 1 school district.

The poster above you is correct, the area you are talking about attends Harwinton for elementary school (k-4). Burlington and Harwinton have a combined school district - Regional School district 10. Both towns have nice rec. programs. The kids bring home lots of info about afterschool/summer camps through the school so you may want to check with them for info. DM me if you have anymore questions and Welcome to Burlington!!!
