Hello,

After many years of marriage, I am going through a divorce and relocating to the Ridgefield area for a new job and a new life. The area looks great but expensive and I am concerned about strapping myself with a mortgage. Do you have any advice for where I might live in Ridgefield or the surrounding area? I am looking for a house for me and my dogs, I would like to be in an upscale charming town, in a historic or lakeside area small single family house taht I could perhaps invest in making a basement apt for rent. I'd like to have access to other singles and meet a nice professional man.

Please share your thoughts with me. Thank you for your help.

There are lots of professionals in lower Fairfield County and the Danbury area. Unfortunately this area has some of the most expensive real estate in the country (Danbury area is a bit lower, and is a little less upscale). What is your price range?

would depend entirely on your price range, but if you look in the Lakes region of Ridgefield, you'll find some smaller, vintage (40s) lake homes that usually are pretty inexpensive, so long as they are not directly on the lake.

I would echo the others and ask for your price range. Ridgefield is a very big town, and I would guess that there are significant price variations based upon the section. It's probably cheaper further north. There are also other nice towns in the area. Generally, the further north you go, the cheaper it will be.
