I agree with every single point the Pophangover article made about Pepe's pizza. It is overrated, disgusting, tasteless pizza. I'm glad someone out there finally had the guts to call them out on their awfulness.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion. Where do you like to get your pizza?

While I didn't find it disgusting or tasteless, I didn't really care for Pepes at all. I don't get the fuss over it either! We have been to the Pepe's in Fairfield and the dining room has no ambience at all. It was more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Not worth the wait in my opinion!

I have found Pepe's fairfield location to be a bit hit-or-miss. As for ambience, I think that the ambience of the place is that it has no ambience. No fake decorations just pizza. Jay

Pepe's, one of the best pizza places in the US.
Modern on state street isn't bad either.

Well I was greatly disappointed. Once in New Haven various locals recommended Modern and the Bar as well as Pepe's and Sally's. In any event I'm satisfied I had a typical New Haven pizza.

I appreciate all the help and advice I got from the folks here. And the folks I ran into in Connecticut and Maine were first rate. And I'll always appreciate the vital role New England played in saving Illinois for Civilization back during frontier days here.
