Yes, a 2/3 family is what we're looking into. It seems that Norwalk has a few for sale that look good on paper. Just want to get some feedback from others.

Any/all of your input would be great!

I am familiar with that area and would recommend it however, it is "Hilly" over there which makes it is bad during the winter months.
Basically, yes I would recommend that area because it is a upcoming area. When you drive around, you will see that you are close to the highway, YMCA, the hospital, 4 schools (Kendall, Jefferson, Fox Run and Ponus). Lastly, they are building up that area, as you may notice; new condos / townhomes are going up where the Pathmark parking lot (aka Norwalk Mall) use to be. They are rebuilding South Norwalk, hence the new police station. There is a big project in Norwalk’s budget and the home prices in certain parts of Norwalk are going to rise.
Check out the below website for details: http://www.norwalkct.org/Budgets/2009approved/CityProfile.pdf

" Norwalk is undertaking the largest economic development initiative in its history, uniting 2.5 million square feet of smart growth office, residential and retail space, linked by pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, convenient to commuter and intermodal transportation hubs. Easily accessible from Norwalk’s interstate highway and railway systems new developments will offer 800,000 square feet of new retail space, more than a thousand new homes, 700,000 square feet of new offices and a new full service hotel.
An extraordinary diversity among employment sectors and industries affords the City exceptional insulation from economic downturns. Corporations find a highly-skilled workforce and an extraordinary quality of life. 6.8 million square feet of class A office space overlooking a New England landscape along 22 miles of Long Island Sound shoreline providing direct access to the interstate network. Just 45 miles from New York City, access to the metro hub is easily available via Norwalk’s four train stations. Corporate neighbors include GE Commercial Finance and GE Capital, Hewitt Associates, Xerox, Diageo, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Fact Set. Norwalk is Connecticut’s sixth largest city; boasts the State’s third largest grand list and fifth strongest retail sales sector."

Thats all?? 4 pictures? You consider those 4 pictures Norwalk? You should take 5 of East Norwalk, 5 of West Norwalk, 5 of South Norwalk and 5 of North Norwalk and then we can see what Norwalk is really about.

I might do that myself.

I feel safe in the hospital area (I rent) and I am a young, single woman from a leafy suburb.

Where you just in SONO and decided to take pictures there. You really can't capture the essence of Norwalk with your pictures. You appeared to be in a car so I can understand, but always capture Famous Pizza and My Three Sons LoL
Although... they were better then my pictures (as you can see, I have none)

I'm sure the author of this post would have appreciated pictures around the hospital and surrounding neighborhoods.

Snowman and Ms Sophisticated,

The 'grandeur' of Norwalk through the lens of my camera will eventually be shown in all its 'glory,' but we must be patient. I'll take a new round of shots during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and let's see how that one turns out.
