Default morning traffic from kent ct to greenwich?

i am moving to kent but i work in greenwich...
i was wondering what my commute is going to be like during rush hour traffic and whats the best route to take...

mapquest tells me i should take 55 to 22 then 684 to 120!
says it should take 1 hour 20 minutes.

i live in blackrock now so i know what traffic is like on 95 during the morning rush hour... pure hell!

so i need a little help here...
i would love any info, good or bad...
whats my traffic fate?

You will virtually be a neighbor to me. Kent is a very nice town, I had a temporary apt. there (sold a house-process of building) in town location and enjoyed it. Im right on top of the mtn just east in Warren.
Anyhow, I think mapquest may be right . One option: Rt. 7 TO New Milford is almost 15 miles of road that will be steady at 50 mph early AM. However, current Rt. 7 construction (In NM and Brookfield) will continue a few years and is a real nag. When its completed, will be a whole new ballgame. After you conquer Rt 7, the next gamble is I-84 west. Sometimes a parking lot, sometimes clear sailing. Usually the local Danbury on ramps and 22/I 6-84 jct are the culprit.
Rt. 55 to 22 in NY is a breeze. Just watch for deer and turkeys. 22 south is great up to Mt Ebo in Brewster where it bottlenecks at Jct 312 (which is the escape valve to Metro North RR and I-84 west) then 22 FLIES at supersonic speed to jct 6-84. 6-84 south then tends to get slow at exit 8 Hardscrabble Rd, and again between Croton falls and Katonah NY. The closer you get to Greenwich, the less familiar I am with the area. .I hope someone can pick up best route from I 6-84 for you.
Back up to Kent, you can also just stay on 341 west thru Macedonia Ct and pick up Sinpatch Rd. to Rt 22 south as well. The monument in Kent at jct 7 & 341 is only about 12 minutes from 22. Happy motoring!

Kent is a beautiful town!

You might consider taking route 7 to Danbury and then the train from Danbury to Greenwich.

This will be some commute. You probably should take the train in Danbury.

Born And Raised In Connecticut. Traffic Is Really Getting To Be Major Problem. Train Is Your Best Bet. You'll Be Sitting In Traffic Like Everyone Else In Connecticut. Lovely State But Too Many People With Cars!!!!

I live in stamford work in waterbury.
The drive is pretty smooth.

Not clear about highway7, but highway 8 going North is pretty smooth.
(The other direction, North to South is terrible).

I was recently on rte 7 and I thought it was going real slow, and was very backed up--but that wasn't the general rule.

You might want to try various ways out of Kent and see which works best, and how long each route takes. I did that when I lived in a similar small town (in MA) and worked in a larger City, also in MA.

In the end, it seemed that I had about as much luck on the back roads than the primarily highway at rush hour.

Good luck! I love Kent!
