To the OP: I was up in the Hartford area this summer for a temporary assignment/training program and lived on the Vernon/Manchester line as well as did some work in Rocky Hill and I can "second" exactly what the last 2 posts said. If you have kids, you may find schools in Manchester a bit questionable, but I'd hardly call them "inner city Hartford" schools either. Good luck, it's a really nice area and while pretty expensive compared to where you're from, not as bad as say the NYC and Boston areas 100 or so miles away.
