To the OP: I was up in the Hartford area this summer for a temporary assignment/training program and lived on the Vernon/Manchester line as well as did some work in Rocky Hill and I can "second" exactly what the last 2 posts said. If you have kids, you may find schools in Manchester a bit questionable, but I'd hardly call them "inner city Hartford" schools either. Good luck, it's a really nice area and while pretty expensive compared to where you're from, not as bad as say the NYC and Boston areas 100 or so miles away.
I am looking at a possible move to glastonbury, CT in december. Could you guys tell me what are the good areas (apartments) to live. I seek safety, convienence to groceries/restaurants/gym and park areas if possible. also how much should it cost roughly to rent a 2 bed apt (Currently i am in southwest part of US and i am paying 890$ for a 2 bed apartment with all the above facilities, and i hope i can find something similar)
Also how is the place in general in terms of cost of living & safety..
My daughter lives in Windsor and its 1150.00 for a 2 bedroom with heat, no elec. While its not Glastonbury its a nice town and central to everything.
