Default Potential SnowStorm Jan. 6-8th

Just throwing it out there that this one will have more potential then the New Years Eve storm because cold air will have time to settle in place.

New Years even seems too close to coast for us to get a foot of snow.

Lets see what happens.

Maybe you can keep all of your 10 day predictions on one thread titled "Winter in Connecticut." Just a thought?

The January 6th or 8th storm could potentially bring snow all the way south to Tampa!!!!!!!! This would resemble the 1977 outbreak. Jim Cantore said Atlanta would be too far North for snow. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT. POLE SHIFT??

THIS PICTURE SAYS IT ALL. JUST LOOK HOW CLOSE THOSE SUB ZERO TEMPS ARE TO US. ONE PUSH SOUTH AND WE’RE IN.

I'm hoping it's the 8th. I'm working on the 7th for the first 1/2 of the day then have do one of my 1-2x/month day trips to Hartford, returning in the evening. Of course, it will all be canceled/moved if it snows anyway so no worries I guess. But yeah, the map looks a lot like the Jan. '77 patterns (HMM....does that mean Buffalo gets 5 feet of snow? If you really want to see "ultimate snow" in a city, Google "Buffalo 1977 blizzard" or something like that and have fun seeing pictures of snow up to the roofs of houses).

I hate doing 2 posts in a row in a thread, but I was starting to doubt this based on all the long range I was seeing saying sunny weather through the week into next weekend, but now this NWS forecast is showing possible snowstorm the night of the 7th into the 8th....

7-Day Forecast for Latitude 40.82°N and Longitude 73.93°W

Who knows, but maybe you should be a weatherman....

Where were the predictions about the snow today? So far we've gotten more snow last night and this morning than we did on New Year's Eve. We've got at least 3" and it's still coming down.

This is part of the "New Years Eve" system. The low is back spinning north of us. Lake effects will also be in affect.

Actually I believe this storm is mostly affecting a line from Danbury to New Haven on north and east if I'm reading the snow totals on the NWS site right.
